The “Young Endocrinologists” Student Scientific Society operates under the Department of Endocrinology with the aim of developing the research activities of undergraduate students, Master’s residents, and clinical residents.

  During the 2025–2026 academic year, a total of 24 undergraduate students, Master’s residents, and clinical residents were involved in the activities of the scientific society. Members of the club actively participate in scientific meetings regularly organized by the Department and conduct research in their respective scientific fields under the supervision of the Department’s academic staff, following the “Teacher–Student” mentorship tradition.

  The activities of the Student Scientific Society are organized in accordance with an approved annual plan, and meetings are held on a regular basis. During the 2025–2026 academic year, a total of 20 scientific club meetings were organized.

  During the scientific club sessions, students develop theoretical and practical skills in the following areas:

• organization and conduct of scientific research;
• working with scientific literature;
• structure and writing principles of scientific articles and abstracts;
• collection, systematization, and analysis of scientific materials;
• statistical and scientific evaluation of research findings;
• discussion of research results and formulation of conclusions;
• preparation of scientific articles and abstracts for publication.

  Master classes and practical training sessions are organized in these areas.

  Students conduct research on current and relevant problems in endocrinology. In particular, they prepare scientific articles and abstracts on diabetes mellitus, thyroid diseases, hormonal disorders, metabolic diseases, endocrine disorders during pregnancy, diabetic nephropathy, autoimmune thyroiditis, primary hyperaldosteronism, and other endocrine pathologies.

  During the 2025–2026 academic year, students of the Department published scientific articles and abstracts in national and international scientific publications.

  In order to integrate the theoretical knowledge of scientific club members with practical experience, they actively participate in patient examinations and surgical procedures in the Department of General Endocrinology of the Samarkand Branch of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Endocrinology named after Academician Y.Kh. Turakulov, thereby expanding their practical knowledge and clinical skills.

  Within the framework of the scientific club, students also actively participate in international scientific cooperation activities. On May 14, 2026, an integrated student scientific society meeting on the topic “Current Problems in Endocrinology” was held with the participation of students from the Department of Endocrinology of Samarkand State Medical University and the Department of Endocrinology of the Avicenna Tajik State Medical University.

  Members of the “Young Endocrinologists” Student Scientific Society also actively participate in international Olympiads and scientific-practical conferences organized at the university level and regularly achieve prize-winning places.

  In particular, at the VI International Olympiad for Medical Students, held in 2025, students of the Department were awarded First-, Second-, and Third-Degree Diplomas.

  In addition, the students actively participated in the 80th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Achievements of Fundamental and Applied Medicine and Pharmacy”, where they were awarded diplomas.

  During the 2025–2026 academic year, talented students and Master’s residents of the Department, in collaboration with their academic supervisors, published 20 abstracts and scientific articles in national and international scientific journals and were awarded relevant certificates and diplomas.

  The main objective of the scientific club is to develop students’ skills in conducting scientific research, clinical reasoning, working with modern medical literature, analyzing scientific findings, and presenting their research at international and national scientific conferences, as well as to train talented young specialists in the field of endocrinology.
