Educational and methodical work of the department
Caring for the younger generation and educating healthy, well-rounded, highly spiritual, and qualified specialists is one of the important responsibilities of a higher education institution. In this regard, spiritual and educational work is one of the important areas of the Department of Endocrinology. At the Department, spiritual and educational activities are carried out systematically in accordance with the approved annual plan.
The coordination and organization of activities in this area are carried out by the responsible professor-teacher G.S. Togayeva.
The academic staff of the Department of Endocrinology conducts spiritual, educational, and educational-developmental activities with students in the following areas:
- regularly familiarizing students with the development of the healthcare system of the Republic of Uzbekistan, reforms being implemented in the medical sector, as well as modern achievements in medical science and practice;
- developing professional responsibility among future physicians, as well as the principles of medical ethics and deontology, respect for patients, and humanism;
- developing students’ understanding of a healthy lifestyle, proper nutrition, physical activity, stress management, and prevention of harmful habits;
- organizing medical and educational activities aimed at preventing endocrine diseases, including diabetes mellitus, thyroid diseases, obesity, metabolic syndrome, osteoporosis, and other endocrine disorders;
- conducting awareness-raising and educational activities among students on diabetes prevention, healthy nutrition, and the preservation of endocrine health;
- providing information and awareness-raising activities on the importance of protecting the endocrine health of the population, especially young people, early detection of diseases, and timely medical consultation;
- increasing students’ interest in medicine and familiarizing them with modern scientific achievements, as well as new methods of diagnosis and treatment;
- developing students’ interest in research activities, independent learning, and professional development, as well as organizing scientific circles and educational meetings;
- providing students with timely information about important developments and news in the fields of medicine, endocrinology, and healthcare in Uzbekistan and around the world;
- fostering a healthy spiritual and moral environment among students and developing mutual respect, solidarity, kindness, and humanism;
- developing in future physicians a sense of loyalty to the Motherland, civic responsibility, dedication to their profession, and high moral qualities of a healthcare professional;
- organizing students’ leisure time in a meaningful manner and actively involving them in spiritual and educational, sports and recreational, scientific, and cultural events held at the Department and University levels;
- organizing various open classes, round-table discussions, seminars, quizzes, scientific and practical conferences, and educational events in endocrinology;
- ensuring a healthy psychological and spiritual-moral atmosphere among students, identifying problems arising in their academic and professional activities, and providing appropriate assistance and recommendations when necessary.
Spiritual and educational activities conducted at the Department are aimed not only at improving students’ medical knowledge but also at developing their professional competencies, spiritual and moral worldview, culture of communication with patients, and sense of professional responsibility as physicians toward society.
