  The professional (clinical) internship program at Samarkand State Medical University is organized in accordance with the regulatory documents approved by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

  Students enrolled in all academic programs at Samarkand State Medical University undertake their professional internships at affiliated clinical training bases established by the University's Department of Student Internship and Clinical Practice under formal cooperation agreements.

Responsibilities and Functions of the Student Internship Department:

1. The Department of Student Internship and Clinical Practice is a structural unit of Samarkand State Medical University. Its primary responsibilities include planning, organizing, supervising, and monitoring professional internship activities, calculating final internship assessment results, and uploading them to the relevant electronic information systems.
2. Preparing official orders for organizing professional internships for first- to fifth-year students; developing internship schedules; determining internship venues and affiliated clinical training bases; and preparing schedules for internship examinations.
3. Compiling and maintaining student lists required for organizing professional internships throughout the academic year.
4. Developing professional internship programs for each academic specialty.
5. Monitoring students' compliance with institutional regulations and professional discipline during the internship period.
6. Providing consultation and guidance to students who wish to complete their internships at other medical institutions, as well as to their parents or legal representatives, on relevant internship procedures.
7. Developing departmental work plans and ensuring their effective implementation.
8. Coordinating the activities of relevant university units in accordance with the objectives and responsibilities of the Department.
9. Ensuring the implementation and monitoring of compliance within faculties, departments, and administrative units with the Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan on education; Presidential Decrees, Orders and Resolutions; Resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers; decisions, directives, circular letters, official communications, and telephone instructions issued by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, as well as the Rector's orders.
10. Informing students about the content and significance of decrees and resolutions adopted by the President and the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
11. Establishing and implementing mutually beneficial cooperation agreements between the University and enterprises, organizations, medical institutions, private companies, and other partners in areas related to professional training and internship activities.
