Eco-active students are the foundation of a sustainable future!
One of the most acute problems facing humanity in the 21st century is the disturbance of ecological balance and environmental pollution. The role of the education system in this regard is invaluable, and the formation of an ecological culture, especially among young people, is of particular importance here. In this context, the concept of eco-active students deserves special attention.
Who is an eco-active student?
An eco-active student is a socially responsible representative of the younger generation who takes care of the environment, has a high culture, strives to protect the environment, use natural resources wisely, and contributes to sustainable development.
Characteristics of an environmentally active student:
1. Environmental knowledge and awareness: Eco-active students have in-depth knowledge of global and local environmental problems, are able to analyze them and strive to find solutions.
2. Practical initiatives: Students actively participate in tree planting, waste sorting, waste recycling, and projects aimed at conserving natural resources.
3. Information and explanatory activities: They contribute to the formation of environmental awareness in society by highlighting environmental issues on social networks, at seminars, trainings, and in educational institutions.
4. Promoting a sustainable lifestyle: They have a positive impact on others through habits such as saving water and energy, avoiding plastic products, and using environmentally friendly transportation.
5. The role of eco-active student activities in the education system: Environmental education of students and youth plays an important role in the implementation of the National Green Space Project (Yasil Makon), the National Concept of Environmental Education, as well as the Sustainable Development Goals until 2030. Teaching environmental sciences in higher educational institutions, the activities of the Young Ecologist circles, and conducting environmental events contribute to the formation of eco-active students.
