Twenty-eight students were enrolled in the “Avicenna” scientific circle for the 2025–2026 academic year, and all of them actively participate in the circle’s regular sessions held at the department. Each student is assigned to a faculty member and actively engages in scientific research in accordance with the “mentor-apprentice” tradition. A total of 14 circle sessions were conducted at the department during the academic year.

  Instructors provided students participating in the scientific circles with information on conducting research, as well as the procedures for collecting, recording, and managing primary documentation. Masterclasses were held covering the preparation of scientific articles and abstracts—including their types, structural components, and publication guidelines—as well as working with scientific literature, data collection and analysis methods, and the presentation and discussion of research results. Additionally, circle participants actively engaged in patient treatment processes within the clinical departments. Furthermore, students delivered presentations on various scientific topics and independently practiced their practical skills.

  Participants from our study circle actively competed and secured prestigious rankings at the 6th International "Samarkand 2020" Olympiad for medical students, organized by SamSMU on December 5–6, 2025. Circle members Gouri Mohammed Shifan and Farrux Ashirov took 1st place; Otabek Khudoyberdiyev, Khumora Rakhmonova, and Bekhruz Dusmamatov took 2nd place; and Mirjamol Kuvondikov took 3rd place; additionally, they won awards in several specific categories. At the Olympiad held at the Bukhara State Medical Institute, Bekhruz Dusmamatov, Makhmud Normakhmatov, and Zafar Usmonov represented the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of Samarkand State Medical University and received awards in various categories.

  Students participating in the club published a total of seven abstracts at the SamDTU conference titled "Achievements in Fundamental and Applied Medicine and Pharmacy." They presented papers on their research topics and achieved distinguished results: Sherali Jamoliddinov won third place, while Raxmatillo Abdumutalibov, Umar Raxmonov, and Bexruz Dusmamatov were awarded diplomas.

  On December 10, 2025, the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics held a joint meeting with the Student Scientific Society of the Department of Traumatology, Orthopedics, and Disaster Medicine at the I.I. Mechnikov North-Western State Medical University.

  During the 2025–2026 academic year, talented students from our department, together with their mentors, published a total of 29 articles in domestic and international scientific journals. Additionally, 7 research abstracts were published in the proceedings of national conferences.
