History of the department

  The Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of Samarkand State Medical University was established in 1964 on the basis of the Joint City Hospital No. 2, and since then, the hospital has been transformed into a trauma hospital. In 1964, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor P.N. Karlenko was appointed as the head of the department, the organizer of the department. In 1953, P.N. Karlenko defended his doctoral dissertation on "Osteomyelitis of the pelvis from firearms." More than 50 scientific works have been published, and 2 candidates of medical sciences have been trained.

  From 1965 to 1973, the department was headed by Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor P. Z. Zaveta. Pavel Zinovievich graduated from the Rostov Medical Institute in 1941. Participant of the Great Patriotic War. In 1969, he defended his doctoral dissertation on "Deforming knee joint arthrosis." He and his students (Cand. S.Sh.Abdushukurov, Candidate of Technical Sciences G.L.Shlonsky, Candidate of Technical Sciences D.G. Ilyasov, Associate Professor of Technical Sciences S.Yu. Ibragimov) are devoted to the study of degenerative-dystrophic joint diseases, biochemical changes in injuries, and the use of medical oxygen. He has trained 4 candidates of medical sciences. Author of more than 60 scientific works and one monograph.

  Professor P.Z. Zaves (1965-1973) headed the department.

  In those years, Associate Professor Yu.Ya. Shvabe, Candidate of Technical Sciences S.Sh. Abdushukurov, and Candidate of Technical Sciences D.G. Ilyasov, Associate Professor Kh.R. Karimova, Ph.D. S.Yu. Ibragimov, and Clinical Resident P. Urinboyev worked at the department..

  From 1973 to 1982, the department was headed by Associate Professor Yu.Ya. Shvabe worked. Associate Professor Yu.Ya.Shvabe covers issues of vegetodistonic, metabolic, and pathological changes in the body of patients with tuberculous spondylitis, as well as issues of treating fractures in the knee joint area. He has prepared more than 30 scientific works, 3 candidates of medical sciences. During this period, in 1977, a course of military field surgery was assigned to the department. Assoc. A.Z.Vakhidov, Candidate of Technical Sciences B.N.Negmatullayev, Candidate of Technical Sciences A.Ya.Foygelman, Candidate of Technical Sciences S.A.Abdullayev worked within the department.

  He headed the department from 1982 to 1996, Professor B.T. Tilyakov. In 1972, he defended his candidate dissertation on "Diagnosis and Treatment of Elbow Nerve Injuries." In 1983, under the guidance of Moscow academician M.V. Volkov, he defended his doctoral dissertation on the topic: "Comprehensive treatment of aged injuries of the elbow joint using articulated-distraction devices."

  The adult orthopedics department deals with endoprosthetics of large joints, apparatus and surgical treatment of post-traumatic contractures of the knee and elbow joints. He is the author of more than 150 scientific works, more than 10 teaching and methodological manuals, 6 inventions, and 1 monograph. Under his supervision, 5 candidate dissertations were defended.

  Head of the Department Professor Urinboev Payzulla Urinboevich. From 1996 to 2016, he was the Head of the Department, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor, and in 1972, he graduated from SamSMU. In 1977, he defended his candidate dissertation on "Treatment of Non-union Fractures of the Humerus in Children" at Moscow's CITO, and in 1995 he defended his doctoral dissertation on "Treatment of Fractures of the Distal End of the Humerus in Children" in Tashkent. Actively participates in the public life of the university. In 1992-1993, he worked in the admissions committee, was the secretary of the university's scientific council (1996-2004), a member of the industry methodological commission of the commission on surgical problems, a member of the editorial board of the journal "Vestnik vracha obshey praktiki," 3 postgraduates and 3 researchers - scientific supervisors of doctoral and candidate dissertations. Under the supervision of P.U. Urinbayev, 2 candidate dissertations were defended.

  Since 1996, he has been a member of the Specialized Council D 0870701 at the Research Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of Uzbekistan, an active participant. P.U. Urinboev is a highly qualified traumatologist-orthopedist-surgeon. Under his leadership, at the Regional Orthopedic Hospital for Trauma Consequences (Chief Physician M.R. Salimov), the scientific validity of preventive, diagnostic, and treatment work will be monitored, and modern advanced directions will be shown. Lectures to students of the medical, pediatric, and medical-pedagogical faculties. Every year, the department trains 7-10 clinical residents in their specialty. During these years, 32 residents are studying in the master's program.

  In 2009, 2 professors worked at the department: Prof. P.U.Urinboev, Prof. Tilyakov, 2 associate professors - associate professor S.Yu. Ibragimov, associate professor. A.A.Ahtamov candidate of medical sciences: ass.N.U.Yusupova., ass. B.T.Turayev, ass. Sh.O. Sandiboev (responsible for educational work); assistants: N.F. Eranov, R.J. Ishkobilov, U.S. Ibragimov, U.K. Muradov, A.M. Makhmurov are engaged in pedagogical activities.

  Associate Professor: Pardayev Saidqosim Norqulovich worked as the Head of the Department from 2016 to 2021. He was born on October 3, 1964, in the village of Chuyantepa, Bulunğur district, Samarkand region. In 1987, he graduated from the Samarkand Medical Institute. From 1988 to 1994, he worked as a traumatologist at the Central Hospital of the Bulunğur District, Samarkand Region. From 1994 to 1996, he studied in the clinical residency at the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the Samarkand Medical Institute. Since 1996, he has been working as the head of the "Spine Surgery" department at the regional traumatology and orthopedics hospital. In 2000, he defended his candidate dissertation on the topic "Treatment of Compression Uncomplicated Fractures of the Thoracolumbar Spine Using the Author's Device." 2016-2021 - Head of the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics. Author of more than 70 scientific works, 2 inventions.

  Associate Professor: Ibragimov Sadulla Yusupovich was born on August 6, 1944, in the Soyot neighborhood of Khiva district, Khorezm region, in a family of intellectuals. From 1967 to 1969, he completed a clinical residency at the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the Samarkand State Medical Institute. From 1969 to 1972, he was a postgraduate student at the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the Samarkand State Medical Institute. From 1972 to 1987, he worked as an assistant at the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the Samarkand State Medical Institute. From 1987 to 2022, he worked as an associate professor at the Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the Samarkand State Medical Institute. From 1982 to 2014, he also worked as the head of the pediatric orthopedics department at the Samarkand Regional Traumatology and Orthopedics Hospital, making significant contributions to the development of pediatric orthopedics in the Republic. During his many years of scientific and pedagogical activity, he published more than 300 articles and theses, about 20 methodological recommendations, and 15 rationalization proposals dedicated to the current problems of traumatology.
