Research work of the department
The research activities of the Department are aimed at the scientifically grounded study of existing problems in modern medicine and forensic medicine, the development of solutions to these problems, the improvement of medical and legal knowledge, the enhancement of the quality and safety of medical care, and the development of the research potential of future medical professionals.
The Department’s research activities focus particularly on such relevant areas as forensic medicine, the legal foundations of medical practice, medical ethics and deontology, bioethics, medical law, forensic medical characteristics of injuries, assessment of harm caused to human life and health, and the improvement of legal relations in medical practice.
An important area of the Department’s research activities is the training of academic and scientific personnel. All academic and teaching staff of the Department actively participate in the research activities of the Department and the University. They conduct scientific research, prepare scientific publications, participate in scientific conferences, develop educational and methodological materials, and provide scientific and methodological support to young researchers.
Currently, 9 members of the Department are conducting research as independent doctoral researchers. These include: DSc: Boymanov F.F., Shoyimov Sh.U., Davranova A.E.; PhD: Qo‘shboqov A.M., G‘aniyev S.N., Qo‘shnazarov R.S., Axmadov M.A., Karimov J.Sh., Xolboyev F.A.
The research conducted by the independent doctoral researchers is closely aligned with the scientific priorities of the Department and covers modern forensic medical diagnostics, morphological and functional characteristics of injuries, medical and legal relations, legal issues in medical practice, and the objective assessment of harm caused to human life and health.
Scientific Publications and Research Output
The results of the research activities of the Department’s academic staff are regularly published in scientific journals and in the proceedings of international and national scientific and practical conferences.
Over the past five years, the Department’s staff have published more than 200 scientific and scientific-methodological works, including 8 scientific articles indexed in the Scopus database, 1 textbook, 3 teaching manuals, 7 monographs, 11 electronic educational and methodological programs, and more than 150 scientific articles in leading national and international scientific journals.
The scientific publications cover the Department’s principal research areas, current issues in forensic medical examination practice, morphological and clinical characteristics of various types of mechanical injuries, medical and legal relations, professional responsibility of physicians, and issues of medical ethics and deontology.
The scientific findings of the Department’s staff are presented at national and international scientific conferences. Based on the research findings, appropriate recommendations are developed for the implementation of scientific results into practical medical and forensic activities.
Monographs and Teaching Manuals Prepared by Department Staff
The academic staff of the Department have prepared a number of monographs, textbooks, and teaching manuals devoted to current issues in forensic medicine and medical education. These scientific and methodological publications serve as theoretical and practical resources for students, master’s students, clinical residents, independent doctoral researchers, physicians, and forensic medical experts.

These publications address important theoretical and practical aspects of forensic medical examination, mechanisms of injury formation, morphological characteristics of injuries, processes of thanatogenesis, criteria for forensic medical assessment of injuries, and modern approaches to conducting expert examinations.
The results of the research conducted at the Department are also widely incorporated into the educational process. Research findings are integrated into lectures and practical classes and are used to teach students modern forensic diagnostic methods, morphological characteristics of injuries, medical and legal issues, and professional deontology through practical clinical and forensic examples.
This approach contributes to the development of students’ ability to integrate theoretical knowledge with practical activities, apply scientific thinking and evidence-based approaches, analyze forensic medical cases, and formulate independent and scientifically substantiated conclusions.
