Within the framework of the disciplines “Forensic Medicine,” “Legal Foundations of Medical Practice,” and “Bioethics,” the Department provides comprehensive coverage of general ethics, medical ethics, deontology, medical deontology, as well as contemporary principles of bioethics. In-depth study of these areas contributes to the development of essential professional competencies among future general practitioners and medical specialists, including strict adherence to professional standards and regulations, respect for patients’ rights, professional responsibility, and confidentiality of medical information.

  Within these disciplines, students also study various types of legal violations, including offenses related to the professional activities of healthcare workers, legal and deontological aspects of medical practice, as well as cases involving forensic medical examinations conducted in connection with various crimes against human life and health. This educational process contributes to students’ understanding of the nature of legal violations, enables them to analyze the causes of such violations, properly assess professional errors and their legal consequences, and acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to prevent similar incidents in their future professional practice.

  Alongside the educational process, the Department systematically conducts spiritual, educational, and character-building activities aimed at developing students’ high moral values, professional culture, legal awareness, patriotism, civic responsibility, and humanism.

  In accordance with the requirements of Order No. 299 of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, each member of the academic teaching staff conducts spiritual, educational, and character-building activities among students based on an individual work plan. Information sessions, thematic discussions, round-table discussions, educational meetings, and other educational activities are regularly organized within the academic groups and cohorts assigned to the Department.

  In addition, spiritual and educational activities are carried out in relevant mahallas, student residences, and among students living in rented accommodation, with the aim of studying their living conditions and maintaining direct communication with them. Particular attention within these activities is given to the implementation of the five important initiatives put forward by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sh.M. Mirziyoyev, aimed at promoting meaningful use of young people’s leisure time and developing their intellectual, spiritual, and physical potential.

  Spiritual and Educational Activities of the Department’s Academic Staff

  The academic staff of the Department systematically conducts educational and spiritual-development activities among students in the following areas:

• regularly introducing students to the works, speeches, and addresses of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sh.M. Mirziyoyev, as well as relevant resolutions of the Oliy Majlis and the Cabinet of Ministers and other regulatory and legal documents;
• fostering a well-rounded younger generation and developing respect for universal human, national, and spiritual values, high moral qualities, and a broad worldview;
• explaining to students the significance of constructive reforms and socio-economic transformations being implemented in the country and their role in the development of society;
• promoting a healthy lifestyle, physical activity, personal hygiene, and a responsible attitude toward personal health among students;
• enhancing students’ political and legal culture, fostering respect for the Constitution and laws, and helping students understand their rights and responsibilities;
• providing students with timely and objective information about important social, political, economic, cultural, and scientific events taking place in Uzbekistan and around the world;
• fostering a healthy spiritual, moral, and socio-psychological environment among students based on mutual respect, tolerance, solidarity, and mutual assistance;
• developing students’ understanding of the high social responsibility associated with the medical profession, fostering commitment to the medical vocation, humane attitudes toward patients, and adherence to the principles of medical ethics and deontology;
• organizing students’ leisure time in a meaningful manner in accordance with the educational institution’s areas of specialization, including the establishment of academic and extracurricular clubs, round-table discussions, intellectual and creative competitions, and educational events;
• preventing legal violations, harmful habits, and the influence of destructive or alien ideas among young people, while strengthening their legal awareness, civic responsibility, and sense of duty to society;
• identifying and addressing students’ problems, needs, and suggestions, conducting individual work with students, and, where necessary, providing practical assistance in cooperation with relevant specialists.

  This comprehensive set of educational, character-building, and spiritual-development activities contributes to the formation of future physicians who possess not only professional knowledge and practical skills but also high moral and ethical standards, legal awareness, professional responsibility, humanism, and a strong culture of medical deontology.

  As a result, students are better prepared for their future professional practice, including the protection of patients’ rights and legitimate interests, adherence to the principles of medical ethics and deontology, and strict compliance with relevant medical and legal standards.
