Research activities at the Department of Psychiatry, Medical Psychology and Narcology are carried out systematically in accordance with the priority areas of modern medical science. The Department's research focuses on addressing current scientific and practical challenges in psychiatry, medical psychology, and narcology, promoting mental health, improving the quality of specialized medical care, and advancing modern methods of diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation.

  The Department's research activities are also closely linked to fostering patriotism, high moral values, and civic responsibility among young people, enhancing legal awareness, promoting healthy lifestyles, and developing evidence-based recommendations for the prevention of psychoactive substance use.

  During the period of 2025–2026, the Department achieved significant progress in strengthening its research capacity. In particular, three faculty members successfully defended their Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) dissertations, and one faculty member was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor. These achievements reflect the high scientific potential of the academic staff, the sustainable development of the Department's research school, and its consistent support for young researchers.

  Currently, three doctoral candidates (T.M. Turaev, M.Kh. Ibragimova, and O.A. Mardiev) and four independent researchers (B.T. Turaev, A.U. Turgunboyev, H.T. Rajabov, and D.Kh. Khushvaqtova) are conducting research in the fields of psychiatry and narcology. Their studies focus on the implementation of modern diagnostic methods, early detection of mental and behavioral disorders, the development of innovative treatment approaches, and comprehensive medical and social rehabilitation technologies.

  The Department's academic staff continuously advances its scientific and educational activities. During the past three years, faculty members have published more than 200 scientific and educational-methodological works, including:

  7 textbooks and study guides;

  3 monographs;

  14 electronic software products;

  more than 100 scientific articles published in national and international peer-reviewed journals;

  more than 10 scientific articles published in journals indexed in the Scopus international database.

  In addition, the Department's faculty members actively participate in national and international scientific and practical conferences, symposia, seminars, and professional development programs, presenting the results of their research. The Department consistently expands its scientific cooperation with foreign universities and research institutions, implements joint research projects, and participates in international grant programs.

  Special attention is paid to the implementation of research findings into the educational process and healthcare practice. Based on research outcomes, new educational and methodological materials, electronic learning resources, clinical guidelines, and innovative diagnostic and rehabilitation technologies are developed and introduced into practice.

  The Department's research activities are aimed at integrating modern scientific achievements with education and clinical practice, training highly qualified academic and research personnel, supporting young scientists, and strengthening international scientific cooperation in the fields of psychiatry, medical psychology, and narcology. The Department's achievements clearly demonstrate the continuous growth of its research potential and its significant contribution to the development of mental health services in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
