The internationalization strategy of Samarkand State Medical University is aimed at strengthening the university’s integration into the international higher education system and expanding its international academic and scientific cooperation. The main advantages of internationalization include increasing the number of international students, developing joint educational and research projects with foreign universities and scientific research centers, expanding academic mobility for researchers and faculty members, and increasing the number of joint educational programs that provide opportunities for students to obtain double degrees.

  Every year, in order to establish and strengthen international cooperation, improve the educational process, enhance professional qualifications, exchange experience, and participate in scientific conferences, the Department of Pediatric Surgery No. 1 welcomes highly qualified foreign specialists, professors, students, and researchers.

  Within the framework of academic mobility, the Department regularly organizes lectures, seminars, and webinars with prestigious medical universities of the CIS countries through the Zoom online platform. Among the invited speakers are Professor V.V. Pozdeev from Izhevsk State Medical Academy; Professor V.U. Sataev, Associate Professors G.G. Latipova and O.G. Afanaseva from Bashkortostan State Medical University; Professor I.A. Abushlin from Chelyabinsk; and Professor M.P. Razin from Kirov State Medical University. Their lectures and scientific presentations have generated considerable interest among students and faculty members.

  At the same time, professors of the department, including Professor D.O. Atakulov and Professor Sh.A. Yusupov, participate in academic mobility programs and deliver lectures and conduct educational sessions for students of leading medical universities in Russia and Tajikistan.
