Samarkand State Medical University Establishes Cooperation with a Prestigious American Accreditation Organization

  On February 28 of this year, Samarkand State Medical University was visited by a delegation led by Graham McMahon, President of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME).

  As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the Rector of Samarkand State Medical University, Professor Jasur Rizaev. During the meeting, the parties discussed the establishment of bilateral cooperation, the introduction of American experience in medical education accreditation and attestation, and practical steps toward implementing joint initiatives in this field.

  The guests also familiarized themselves with the university’s activities, infrastructure, educational formats, and the organization of the academic process.

For reference: ACCME (Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education) is an independent non-profit organization in the United States that accredits Continuing Medical Education (CME) programs for physicians and other healthcare professionals. Its headquarters is located in Chicago, Illinois, USA.

  The organization’s main functions include:

  • Accrediting medical education programs and ensuring their quality
  • Regulating the awarding of CME credits for physicians
  • Supporting continuous professional development and knowledge enhancement in medicine
  • Ensuring independence and transparency in the educational process (preventing conflicts of interest)
