On September 17-20 of this year, the first Congress of the Eurasian Confederation of Pediatric Surgeons was held at the Silk Road by Minyoun Hotel in Samarkand.

    The conference was attended by representatives of surgical fields from many countries, including Europe, Russia, Japan, Great Britain, Turkey and Azerbaijan.

    At the opening of the congress, the acting khokim of the Samarkand region, Adiz Boboev, spoke and stressed the importance of holding the congress. He also congratulated the famous scientist, founder of the pediatric surgical school, Professor Azamat Shamsiev on his 80th birthday and wished him many more years of life and good health.

    After the plenary session, the work of the congress continued in five sections.

    During the congress, new achievements in the field of neonatal, abdominal and thoracic surgery, and emergency surgery were discussed. The researchers read more than 200 reports, conducted practical workshops, and performed many complex laparoscopic operations.

    The First Congress of the Eurasian Confederation of Pediatric Surgeons will undoubtedly make a significant contribution to bringing this field to a new level, as well as introducing world-class innovations into the republic's healthcare system.
