On April 14-15, the Samarkand State Medical University hosted the International Scientific and Practical Conference "Modern Approaches to Education, Science and Clinical Practice in Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery."

  The international conference was attended by more than 40 representatives of professors and more than 70 students of medical universities in Russia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and our country.

  The main goal of the international conference was to discuss modern approaches in dentistry and maxillofacial surgery, clinical practice, training highly qualified specialists in the field, support young scientists and researchers. The conference was conducted in hybrid form, offline and online.

  Rector of SamSMU Jasur Rizaev, director of the Central Research Institute of Dentistry and Maxillofacial Surgery of the Ministry of Health of Russia Fyodor Losev, rector of Saratov State Medical University Andrei Eremin, rector of Tashkent State Dental Institute Nodir Khaidarov, regional director of Univet for CIS countries Gregorio Kokko (Italy) and other forum participants and guests. In their welcoming addresses, they noted the importance of modern approaches to dentistry and maxillofacial surgery, the importance of developing international relations for the training of highly qualified specialists for the field.

  After the plenary session, the work of the international conference was continued in sectional meetings in the areas of surgical dentistry and maxillofacial surgery, therapeutic dentistry, orthopedic dentistry, pediatric dentistry and orthodontics, and a section of young scientists. During the speeches, especially the attention of the conference participants was attracted by the reports of young researchers on the most relevant areas of modern dental science.

  As part of the international scientific and practical conference, the Samarkand State Medical University signed memoranda of cooperation with UNIVET Loupes SPA (Italy), Kabardino-Balkarian State University named after H.M. Berbekov (Russia) and the Samarkand Military Hospital by the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

  As part of the international conference, the International Student Olympiad "Mastery of Aesthetic Restoration in Dentistry" was held. The participants of the international competition competed in solving test tasks, demonstrated their knowledge in oral answers and demonstrated their practical skills.
