At the department, the following groups of students study:
1st-year students of the Higher Nursing program;
2nd-year students of the Faculties of General Medicine, Pediatrics, Medical Biology, Medical Prevention, Dentistry, and Traditional Medicine;
3rd-year students of the Faculty of Pharmacy, studying the subject “Biological Chemistry”;
4th-year students of the Faculty of Medical Biology, studying the subject “Medical Biochemistry”.
At the department, international joint programs are also conducted:
2nd-year students of the Faculties of General Medicine and Pediatrics study the subjects “Biochemistry” and “Clinical Aspects of Biochemistry”.
Teaching is carried out for each course and faculty based on the following approved documents:

Amendments according to the Order of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 80;
Approved diagnostic standards;

Technical resources in the teaching process:
The department has established a modern telecommunication-based learning system, through which video materials, presentations, multimedia programs, lectures, and practical lessons related to topics are presented to students using TV monitors connected to a central computer. This method increases the interactivity of the learning process, visually explains educational materials, and helps students gain a better understanding of topics.
A unified teaching system has been developed based on the academic program. This system relies on a single electronic database containing images, graphical data, and analytical materials covering all sections and topics. The visual information database enables the systematic and continuous organization of the educational process and encourages independent learning among students.
Additionally, a mobile application has been developed: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.... this system, distance learning opportunities have been introduced, allowing students to review lectures and practical assignments online, complete test tasks, and exchange ideas through electronic forums. This increases the efficiency of the learning process and strengthens interactive communication between teachers and students.
Department Library: The library contains more than 60 educational books in English, Uzbek, and Russian. The electronic library includes textbooks, atlases, teaching aids, educational-methodological manuals, and more.
Laboratory work for students: Students perform laboratory tasks using biochemical analyzers.
Independent student work at the Department of Biological Chemistry includes:
- Laboratory sessions – conducted with modern laboratory equipment and analyzers, allowing students to study biochemical analyses through real experiments.
- Essay writing – students prepare essays on subject topics using scientific sources from the internet, developing independent research skills.
- Preparing tables and charts – students create tables and diagrams on new topics based on online information, visually reinforcing theoretical knowledge.
- Interactive games – quizzes, tests, and interactive question-answer games related to topics are developed to increase lesson effectiveness.
- Creating crosswords – crosswords on terms and concepts are developed to reinforce knowledge and improve logical thinking.
- Training sessions – organized based on problem situations, helping students develop teamwork, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills.
