Based on the Concept of Development of the institute, the internationalist tasks of the Samarkand State Medical University are aimed at strengthening its position in the international educational space. The main advantages of internationalization are increasing the number of students coming from abroad, developing joint projects with higher education institutions and scientific research centers in foreign countries, increasing the number of researchers and teachers teaching in foreign educational institutions, and increasing the number of joint programs with higher educational institutions abroad that provide the opportunity to issue two diplomas.

  Samarkand State Medical University develops relations based on the essence of equality with participants of international cooperation in the fields of education and science from more than 60 countries and international organizations, foreign universities, and scientific-research centers. The development of cooperative dialogues with universities of Europe, Asia, North America, and the CIS is based on joint programs and educational mobility.

  Every year, the number of highly qualified specialists, professors, students, and researchers from abroad visiting SamSMU for the purpose of establishing cooperative dialogues, studying, improving skills, and participating in scientific conferences is increasing.

  The department has relations and cooperative dialogues with more than 10 higher education institutions and scientific research centers in near and far foreign countries:

  Academic mobility was conducted in the People's Republic of China. Modern treatment methods in the field of oncohematology were studied in China.

  The exchange of qualifications with specialists from "Medical Park" in Turkey has been well established.

  In the first and second quarters of 2026, autologous hematopoietic stem cell transplantation was performed by the staff of the SamSMU Department of Hematology and the SRMMMC (Samarkand Regional Multidisciplinary Medical Center) Hematology Center in two cases of multiple sclerosis (autoimmune), one case of systemic lupus erythematosus, and one case of myeloma.

  On May 14, 2026, a scientific-practical conference entitled "HLA-diagnostik IN DER ORGAN- UND STAMMZELLTRANSPLANTATION" was held at the Department of Hematology in cooperation with the UNIVERSITY MEDICAL CENTER FREIBURG, Germany.

  From July 1 to 16, 2026, the Head of the Department L.S. Maxmonov underwent professional development in bone marrow transplantation at the R.M. Gorbacheva Research Institute of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology under the I. Pavlov University in St. Petersburg.

  In August 2026, assistant Amerova D.A. underwent professional development at Xi'an Jiaotong University in Xi'an, People's Republic of China.

  On September 17-19, 2026, assistant of the Department of Hematology Amerova D.A. participated in the 19th International Symposium at the R.M. Gorbacheva Research Institute of Pediatric Oncology and Hematology under the I. Pavlov University in St.Petersburg.
