International Cooperation
Samarkand State Medical University is recognized as one of Uzbekistan's leading higher medical education institutions in the development of international cooperation, the implementation of advanced educational technologies, and the continuous enhancement of medical education in accordance with internationally recognized standards. The University has established extensive partnerships with prestigious universities, research institutions, and healthcare organizations worldwide. Currently, it maintains 173 active international memoranda and cooperation agreements, facilitating joint academic programs, collaborative research projects, academic mobility initiatives, and professional development programs with leading institutions in the United States, Germany, Italy, Türkiye, Japan, the Republic of Korea, China, Russia, Poland, Lithuania, Israel, Kazakhstan, and many other countries.
The University is currently home to 4,155 international students from India, Pakistan, Russia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, the Republic of Korea, Afghanistan, and numerous other countries. These students pursue their education through internationally aligned academic programs in a modern and multicultural learning environment. To ensure a high-quality educational experience, the University provides state-of-the-art academic facilities, advanced simulation centers, information and resource centers, and comfortable student accommodation designed to meet international standards.
To further integrate global expertise into the educational process, the University has engaged 151 international professors and specialists from Germany, Türkiye, Russia, Belarus, India, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, and other countries. These distinguished academics actively contribute to teaching, scientific research, clinical training, and collaborative educational initiatives, enriching the University's academic environment with international perspectives and best practices.
The University has successfully established joint degree programs with higher education institutions in Russia, Poland, and other partner countries. At present, 494 students are enrolled in these programs, providing them with the opportunity to earn dual degrees recognized by both partner institutions, thereby enhancing their international academic and professional qualifications.
