Third Congress of Scientists from Turkic States on Neuromodulation Held

  On 22 May, the Hilton Samarkand City Hotel hosted the Third Congress of Scientists from Turkic States, entitled “The Harmony of Historical Traditions and Modern Innovations,” dedicated to neuromodulation and commemorating the 85th anniversary of Professor Abdurakhmon Mamatkulovich Mamadaliyev, Doctor of Medical Sciences and founder of the Samarkand School of Neurosurgery.

  The congress brought together distinguished scientists and healthcare professionals from Uzbekistan, Russia, Germany, Ukraine, Türkiye, India, and several other countries.

  Opening the event, Professor Jasur Rizaev, Rector of Samarkand State Medical University, emphasized the congress's significant role in advancing the national healthcare system, particularly in the fields of neurosurgery and neuromodulation, while also strengthening international scientific cooperation. He wished all participants a productive and successful congress.

  During the ceremony, special recognition was given to Professor Abdurakhmon Mamatkulovich Mamadaliyev for his many years of outstanding contributions to medical science. Participants warmly congratulated him on his 85th birthday and wished him continued good health and longevity.

  As part of the congress, the honorary title of Honorary Professor of Samarkand State Medical University was awarded to Professor Sait Öztürk of Altınbaş University (Türkiye) and Gayrat Muratovich Kariev, President of the Society of Neurosurgeons of Uzbekistan and Director of the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Center of Neurosurgery.

  The scientific program featured presentations on the latest advances in the treatment of chronic pain, movement disorders, epilepsy, neurodegenerative diseases, and psychoneurological disorders. Particular attention was devoted to innovative approaches, including deep brain stimulation, spinal cord stimulation, peripheral nerve stimulation, neurointerfaces, and the application of digital technologies in neurosurgery and neuromodulation.
