In order to promote a healthy lifestyle among the population and improve the health of residents in remote areas, the working group of Samarkand State Medical University is conducting medical screening activities in distant regions of the province.
On April 24 of the current year, comprehensive medical examinations were organized at the “Uzun” family polyclinic, which is part of the Oqdaryo District Medical Association. These examinations were carried out by qualified medical specialists of Samarkand State Medical University. At the polyclinic, designed to serve 7,300 residents, more than 340 individuals underwent medical examinations conducted by specialists in over 10 fields, including pediatrics, orthopedics, oncology, endocrinology, ophthalmology, urology, and cardiology. Necessary recommendations were provided to all examined individuals. In addition, 8 patients were referred to regional hospitals, and 148 residents received outpatient care.
The main objective of these medical screenings is to provide accessible healthcare services to vulnerable segments of the population, improve public health awareness, and enhance the overall quality of life. These large-scale and systematic efforts carried out by the faculty and working group of Samarkand State Medical University in remote areas of the region play a significant role in promoting a healthy lifestyle among the population and further improving the healthcare system.
