Based on the cooperation memorandum between Xinjiang Medical University and Samarkand State Medical University, joint activities in education, research, and clinical practice have been carried out for several years.
As part of this cooperation, on March 16, 2026, a delegation led by Professor Wang Yongxin, Director of the Neurosurgery Center of the First Affiliated Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University, visited Samarkand State Medical University.
During the visit, a meeting was held with the Rector of the university, Professor Jasur Rizayev, where issues related to further development of cooperation were discussed. In particular, the parties exchanged views on establishing staff exchange programs, promoting professional development initiatives, and expanding academic mobility.
Additionally, a scientific and practical seminar was organized at the Neurosurgery Center of Samarkand State Medical University.
Within the framework of the program, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the two neurosurgery centers to enhance collaboration in educational, research, and clinical activities.
On March 16–17, Chinese professors examined complex patients at the center, provided professional recommendations, and conducted master classes on advanced high-tech minimally invasive surgical procedures. Notably, successful operations included microvascular decompression of the posterior cranial fossa for trigeminal neuralgia and endovascular coil embolization for an anterior cerebral artery aneurysm.
