Samarkand State Medical University hosted an international scientific and practical conference titled “Topical Issues of Surgery and Oncology.” The event brought together leading specialists from Uzbekistan, Russia, Belarus, and Azerbaijan to discuss the latest advances and challenges in surgical and oncological care.

  Opening the conference, Head of the Samarkand Regional Health Department Sukhrob Zayniyev and Rector of Samarkand State Medical University Professor Jasur Rizayev highlighted the significance of the forum in improving the diagnosis and treatment of surgical and oncological diseases. They emphasized that such platforms foster the exchange of experience and promote the introduction of innovative methods into clinical practice.

  Following the plenary session, the participants continued their discussions across five thematic sections, covering topics such as modern approaches to surgery and thoracic oncology, contemporary oncourology, current issues in head and neck tumors, and advances in oncomammology.

  The conference also included live surgical demonstrations, featuring complex laparoscopic procedures such as sigmoid colon resection and laparoscopic removal of gastrointestinal tumors.

  Organizers expressed confidence that the outcomes of the conference will make a significant contribution to the further development of surgical and oncological services and strengthen international scientific collaboration.
