The Ilkhom Award, established by the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan, aims to effectively organize an in-depth study of the life and work of poets and writers, increase youth interest in literature, encourage them to read books and, on this basis, further instill in their hearts a sense of patriotism in order to stimulate the talents and creative abilities of young people in higher educational institutions, conduct research on this basis, the creation of films and productions and their popularization among young people.
The first stage of the republican competition for the Ilkhom Award was held at Samarkand State Medical University.
The participants of the selection round answered 50 questions on national literature, the spiritual heritage of writers and thinkers, the life and work of literary figures.
According to the results of the competition:
- The 1st place was awarded to Dilshoda Sarayeva,
- 2nd place to Rashan Rakhmanov,
- The 3rd place went to R.Eshmamatova, N.Karimova, D. Mamanova.
The participants who took 1st-2nd-3rd places proceed to the next stage of the competition.
