Visit of Webster University Delegation (USA) to SamSMU

  In May of current year, a delegation of rectors of higher medical educational institutions of the republic, led by the Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Amrillo Inoyatov, visited universities of the United States. As part of this visit, the rector of Samarkand State Medical University, Professor Zhasur Rizaev, visited Webster University, where issues of mutual cooperation were discussed and an agreement on assistance of the American university in training qualified specialists in the specialties of "Medical Biology" and "Higher Nursing" on the basis of American standards in SamSMU was reached.

  Thus, on July 9, within the framework of this agreement, SamSMU was visited by the delegation of this American university consisting of the president of Webster University Julian Schuster, general director of global campuses Ryan Guffey, expert-consultant Izzat Aripov, rector of Webster University in Tashkent Vassilis Polimenis and executive director Rasul Rakhmonov.

  The guests were met by Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan Amrillo Inoyatov, Rector of SamSMU Zhasur Rizaev, Vice-Rector for International Relations of the University Zafar Aminov and Head of Health Department of Samarkand region Davronbek Dzhumaniyazov.

  During the talks, issues of mutual cooperation between the universities were discussed. In particular, an agreement was reached with Webster University to organize training on a joint educational program "Higher Nursing". There was also an exchange of views on the exchange of experience in the organization of educational processes, academic mobility of qualified specialists and a number of other issues on cooperation in the training of specialists.

  At the end of the meeting, Rector of SamSMU, Zhasur Rizaev presented the guests with memorable souvenirs symbolizing the University.
