Future neurosurgeons of Samarkand State Medical University improved their qualification in leading foreign scientific centres

  Presently, Samarkand State Medical University pays special attention to training of young specialists in foreign partner universities within the framework of academic mobility programmes.

  Thus, Mukhiddin Tilavkulov, resident of postgraduate course of neurosurgery department at Samarkand State Medical University, from 20th September to 20th November of 2022 year attended short-term academic mobility programme at Privolzhsky research medical university (Nizhny Novgorod, Russia), where he took part in course named "Vertebrospinal neurosurgery" under supervision of professor I.A. Medyanik and associate professor A.E. Bokov. Within the framework of this programme our Master's student took part in more than 100 surgeries, patient discussion conferences and scientific-practical courses "Neuromodulation in Drug Resistant Pain Syndrome" and "Degenerative Spinal Deformities".

  Additionally, Bobur Abduvoyitov, 3rd year Master's degree resident in "Neurosurgery" took part in the academic mobility program "Vertebrospinal Endoneurosurgery" at Aakash Super Speciality Hospital in New Delhi (India) from November 8 to November 21 of 2022 year. During the training cycle, B. Abduvoitov attended lectures by leading professors and participated in surgeries for spinal disorders, including herniated discs, stenoses, protrusions and various deformities, performed using a modern spinal endoscope.

  The systemic measures taken at SamSMU for mastering of foreign experience by our young specialists and integration into the world educational space create a solid basis for the implementation of cardinal reforms to the healthcare sector.
