International scientific-practical conference "Innovative approach in the treatment of dental diseases"

  On June 4, Samarkand State Medical University hosted an international scientific-practical conference "Innovative approach in the treatment of dental diseases". The forum was attended by leading Russian scientists-dentists, who were on a visit to the University and practitioners, students and teachers of SamSMU .

  Opening the international conference Dean of the Faculty of Dentistry SamSMU A.A. Akhmedov noted the relevance of the issues discussed for further improvement of dentistry as a science and practice in the region. Many scientists presented their work, in particular Olga Bekzhanova, DSc, professor, head of department of the faculty of therapeutic dentistry of TSDI (Tashkent, Uzbekistan) "Mucositis and peri-implantitis. Individual prognosis of the development of immediate and long-term complications of dental implantation"; Alexander Mitronin, DSc, professor, dean of the Faculty of Dentistry, head of the Department of Cariesology and Endodontics of MSMSU named after A.I. Evdokimov (Moscow, Russia) "Progressive endodontics: modern solutions for traditional problems"; Malkan Amkhadova, professor, DSc, Head of the Department of Surgical Dentistry and Implantology, Moscow Regional Clinical Research Institute named after M.F. Vladimirsky (Moscow, Russia) "Oncological alertness and oncological screening at outpatient dental appointments" and Olga Gilyova, DSc, Head of the Department of Therapeutic Dentistry and Propaedeutics of Dental Diseases, PSMU named after E.A.Vagner (Perm, Russia) "Key trends in conservative and preventive dentistry".

  The presentations were followed by discussions with the active participation of students and staff of SamSMU.

  At the end of the conference, all speakers were given souvenirs and a general photo was taken with the participants.

  Guests also visited the new academic building of SamSMU, where they got acquainted with the facilities created for educational and laboratory classes as well as visited the museum of the history of the University.
