Educational and methodical work of the department

  The department provides instruction in Pediatric Surgery and Introduction to Medicine for 1st- and 4th-year students of the Faculty of Pediatrics, as well as for 1st-year students of the International and Joint Education Faculty, following the approved curricula. Additionally, the department offers programs for postgraduate training and clinical residency to prepare highly qualified specialists.

  Teaching for each course and faculty is conducted in accordance with the following approved documents:

-Qualification characteristics;
-State standards;
-Curricula;
-Syllabi;

  Educational technologies, which include:

-Amendments in accordance with Order No. 80 of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
-Approved diagnostic standards;
-International recommendations;
-Modern teaching technologies, including graphic organizers, case-based learning, and project-based methods.

  Technical support in the teaching process includes:

  • A telecommunication system for displaying topic-related videos, presentations, multimedia programs, lectures, and practical sessions on TVs connected to the central computer;
  • A unified bank of scanned images for standardized teaching materials, aligned with all sections of the curriculum.

  Department Library:

  • Contains over 50 educational resources in English, Uzbek, and Russian;
  • The electronic library includes textbooks, atlases, teaching guides, and methodological manuals.

  During practical training, students consolidate their knowledge in hospital wards, operating theaters, and diagnostic departments. Additionally, 4th-year students participate in night shifts twice per academic year. All students also engage in simulation center exercises to enhance practical mastery of the subject matter.
