On October 3-4, 2022, Scientific and Practical Conference "Actual Issues of Urology: Unity of Theory and Practice" was held at Samarkand State Medical University. The international conference was attended by representatives of medical universities, research organizations and centres from Turkey, Russian Federation, Kazakhstan, Republic of Belarus, Tajikistan, Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan.

  At the opening ceremony of the international conference, Amrillo Inoyatov - First Deputy Minister of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Zhasur Rizaev - Rector of Samarkand State Medical University, Farkhad Akilov - Chairman of the Scientific Society of Urologists of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Victor Lazarenko - Rector of Kursk State Medical University and others noted the importance and significance of the international scientific forum in expansion of mutually beneficial international cooperation.

  After the plenary session the main work of the international conference was continued in 7 plenary sessions where the participants made their presentations in the following areas: “Endourology: Innovations in the Treatment of Urolithiasis and Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia”, “Laparoscopic Urology: Achievements of Uzbek Urologists and Foreign Experience”, “Drug Therapy in Urology”, “Oncourology”, “Children Urology” and also the special session “Young Urologists” and the competition of young scientists. All in all, more than 80 presentations were showed by leading specialists in urology and young scientists of the Republic of Uzbekistan and abroad during the Conference. The proceedings of the conference were published in a special issue of the international journal 'Biomedicine and Practice'.

  The International Scientific and Practical Conference “Current Issues of Urology: Unity of Theory and Practice”, held at Samarkand State Medical University, will certainly contribute to further development of urology, attracting young specialists to scientific research work, further improvement of quality of teaching clinical disciplines at medical higher education institutions and postgraduate education institutions, development of international scientific cooperation.
