In order to rationally organize the free time of students of the Samarkand State Medical Institute, the department for work with youth, together with the department of physical culture and sports, organized sports competitions in student hostels.

  They were attended by students living in hostels, including the Faculty of International Education. Students competed not only in such classic sports as football and volleyball. For example, armwrestling competitions were held in student dormitory # 2, where students of international education live, and a cricket tournament was organized and held for them on May 15 at the Lokomotiv stadium. Similar competitions for students of the institute are held on a regular basis.
