Department of history

  Pharmacognosy and pharmaceutical technologies are taught at the faculty of Pharmacology of the Samarkand State Medical University in 2019.

  The department has a teaching staff consisting of 10 trainee assistants and assistants. The university management has organized a laboratory equipped with modern equipment at the department. The rooms in which classes are held are equipped with educational and exhibition accessories for these subjects.

  According to the decision of the Academic Council dated July 30, 2021 (minutes No. 11) and the order of the rector of the institute No. 655AF dated July 20, 2021, the Department of Pharmacology is divided into the Departments of "Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Technology" and "Pharmacology’’. According to the order of the rector of SamSMU dated August 28, 2021 No. 529-k, the head of the Department of Pharmacognosy and Pharmaceutical Technologies, subject to passing through the competition, was appointed Doctor of Philosophy Kodirov N.D. 

  The department has a teaching staff consisting of 10 trainee assistants and assistants. The university management has organized a laboratory equipped with modern equipment at the department. The classrooms are equipped with necessary educational accessories.

  The department’s library contains a wide range of educational and methodological resources, including manuals, textbooks, brochures authored by faculty members, as well as textbooks and scientific journals written by international scholars.

  During the 2024–2025 academic year, the department’s team published:

  • 6 educational manuals
  • 1 monograph
  • 28 methodological recommendations

  The department has established academic mobility partnerships with medical universities in Russia, Kazakhstan, and Turkey. Faculty members, together with gifted students, actively participate in national and international science Olympiads, consistently earning top awards.

  As a result of scientific activity:

  • Approximately 70 research articles have been published in journals recognized by the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC), as well as in national and international journals
  • Around 25 theses have been presented
  • 8 electronic calculation programs have been developed and implemented in practice

  The department collaborates with several secondary and specialized educational institutions, technical colleges, and healthcare organizations to organize scientific conferences and seminars, providing practical support through educational materials and textbooks. Notably, partnerships have been established with public health technical colleges named “Siyob,” “Past Dargom,” “Narpay,” and “Abu Ali ibn Sina.”

  The department’s team is committed to integrating modern innovative technologies into the educational process and continuously working toward the advancement of science, with the goal of preparing highly qualified specialists.

  In the 2024–2025 academic year, four master’s students were admitted to the department. Their research topics have been approved, and they have already completed the first chapters of their theses. Each master's student actively participates in scientific conferences and regularly publishes articles related to their research. On a quarterly basis, each student publishes at least one article in national or international scientific journals, demonstrating both their academic potential and the effectiveness of the department’s research activities.
