At the Department of Internal Diseases of the Pediatric Faculty, research is carried out in the following relevant areas:
- Current problems of internal diseases;
- A differentiated approach to the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatological diseases;
- Clinical and immunological features of bronchial asthma and chronic bronchitis;-
- Genetic basis of liver cirrhosis of viral etiology.
All faculty members actively participate in the research activities of the department and the institute.
In the 2025–2026 academic year, the department employed 8 teaching staff members, including:
1 Doctor of Medical Sciences (DSc),
3 Candidates of Sciences (PhD),
4 staff members without an academic degree.
The scientific potential of the department is 50%.
Defended Dissertations
The Head of the Department — Doctor of Medical Sciences, Associate Professor Babamuradova Z.B. On September 17, 2020, at the Academic Council of Tashkent Medical Academy (Council No. DSc.04/30.12.2019.tib.30.02), she defended her dissertation for the PhD degree on the topic:
"The significance of phenotypic and genetic markers in the development, course, and early diagnosis of undifferentiated connective tissue dysplasia."
She also successfully defended her doctoral dissertation (DSc) on the topic:
"A differentiated approach to the diagnosis and treatment of rheumatological diseases."

The defense took place at the Academic Council of Samarkand State Medical University (Council No. DSc.04/30.12.2019.Tib.102.01).
Nasipova A.A. — Lecturer of the Department
On October 22, 2021, at the Academic Council of Samarkand State Medical Institute, she defended her PhD dissertation on the topic:
"Clinical and immunological features of bronchial asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, and their combination."
Scientific advisor: Doctor of Medical Sciences Bazarova Zh.A., Senior Researcher at the Republican Rehabilitation Center in Tashkent.
On July 3, 2024, she was awarded the academic title of Associate Professor (Certificate No. 016029).
Over the past 5 years, the department staff has published more than 400 scientific works, including 6 textbooks, 6 monographs, 25 electronic programs, and more than 270 articles in leading national and international journals.
