Educational and methodical work of the department
At the department, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th year dental students study according to the curricula of the disciplines "Diseases of the Oral Mucosa", "Periodontology", "Clinical Endodontics", "Clinical Restorative Dentistry", "Preclinical Restorative Dentistry", "Introduction to Dentistry", and "Oral Biology".
The department also trains highly qualified specialists through its master's and clinical residency programs.
Instructional-Methodical Work of the Department
The department's faculty regularly updates lecture materials, practical session guides, and the bank of test items and case-based problems used to assess student knowledge in each discipline. Monthly methodical seminars, open classes, and experience-sharing sessions are organized at the department.
Faculty members review the working curricula each academic year in line with changes to state educational standards and study programs, and actively participate in professional development courses and scientific-practical conferences.
Teaching for each course and faculty is conducted on the basis of the following approved documents:
- Qualification characteristics;
- State standard;
- Curriculum;
- Working curriculum;
- The following are included in the educational technologies:
- Amendments based on Order No. 80 of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- Approved diagnostic standards;
- International recommendations;
- Modern educational technologies (graphic organizers, case technology, and the project method).
The following technical facilities are available during the teaching process:

A telecommunications system has been established, through which relevant video films, presentations, multimedia programs, lectures, and practical sessions are displayed on televisions connected to a central computer. There is a unified bank of scanned images, compiled according to the curriculum and covering all its sections, intended for unified teaching.
In practice, phantom rooms have been organized where everyone can freely perform practical skills on phantoms.

Department Library:
- The library has more than 60 educational materials in English, Uzbek, and Russian.
- The electronic library includes textbooks, atlases, teaching aids, instructional-methodical materials, and other resources.
Students are organized to observe relevant patients in the clinical examination rooms of the therapeutic dentistry department.
