Morally and educational work of the department
Caring for the younger generation and striving to raise healthy, well-rounded individuals are characteristic features of the national values of the Uzbek people. Therefore, spiritual and educational activities are among the most important areas of work of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2 of the Faculty of Pediatrics. At the department, spiritual and educational activities were carried out regularly every Thursday in accordance with the approved plan by Associate Professor G.B. Arziyeva, who is responsible for spiritual and educational work. Department staff, master's students, clinical residents, and students were regularly familiarized with the works and speeches of President Sh.M. Mirziyoyev, as well as with the decrees and resolutions of the Oliy Majlis and the Cabinet of Ministers.

Students of groups 601, 602, 603, 604, and 605 studying at the Faculty of Pediatrics of Samarkand State Medical University were assigned to the academic staff of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2 within the “Mentor–Apprentice” system. Their living conditions and lifestyles were regularly monitored, and a meeting was organized with all students to familiarize them with the “Code of Ethics.”
Students’ academic performance and attendance were regularly monitored. Attention was also paid to how they spent their free time after classes, and recommendations were provided on how to use this time meaningfully.
The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology No. 2 organized a “Plov Competition” and sports competitions at the student dormitory (TTJ) with the aim of fostering a well-rounded younger generation, enhancing universal, national, and spiritual values among young people, promoting a philosophy of healthy living, and creating a healthy moral environment among students. Five varieties of plov were prepared in five cauldrons: Samarkand, Tashkent, Jizzakh, Kashkadarya, and Bukhara styles. In addition, arm-wrestling and volleyball competitions were held enthusiastically among the students, and all participants were awarded valuable prizes.

Students attending classes at the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology participated in clinical teaching involving normal and pathological childbirth and surgical procedures, and practical skills in providing first aid for obstetric hemorrhage were demonstrated and taught. During their free time after classes, discussions were held with students about social, political, and cultural events taking place in the country and around the world. A student scientific club has been established at the department, where students interested in obstetrics and gynecology are regularly engaged in academic activities, and our students participate in Olympiads and consistently achieve prize-winning places.
