Research work of the department
The department’s research activities are aimed at educating the younger generation to be physically strong, healthy, and well-rounded, developing students’ solid knowledge and understanding of the importance of a healthy lifestyle and physical activity for human health, as well as conducting scientific and practical research aimed at developing physical education and sports in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
All teaching staff of the department actively participate in research activities carried out at the department and university levels. Special attention is paid to increasing scientific and pedagogical potential, developing new scientific areas, and conducting modern scientific research.
Currently, 1 employee of the department — Ziyatov M.N. — holds the academic degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor. In addition, 2 employees of the department — Jumanova I.Sh. and Khayitova U.T. — are conducting research as independent researchers. Sattorov Q.N. is preparing the necessary documents to pursue doctoral studies and continue his research activities.
During the past 5 years, more than 170 scientific and methodological works have been published by the department’s staff. These include 2 textbooks, 6 study guides, 1 one monograph, 2 electronic programs, as well as more than 100 scientific articles published in national and international scientific journals.
In addition to preparing scientific articles, theses, educational and methodological manuals, and monographs, the department’s teaching staff regularly participate in national and international scientific and practical conferences, seminars, and scientific forums.

Main Areas of Research Activities
The research conducted at the department covers the following main areas:
- physical development of young people and the formation of a healthy lifestyle;
- studying the impact of physical education and sports training on human health;
- developing modern methods for increasing students’ physical activity;
- developing the physical abilities of young athletes;
- improving the scientific and methodological foundations for the development of wrestling and other sports;
- organizing physical education classes in higher education institutions and improving their effectiveness;
- applying modern pedagogical technologies in the field of physical education and sports;
- scientifically studying current issues in the development of physical education and sports in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The department plans to further increase the effectiveness of research activities, develop the scientific potential of teaching staff, actively participate in international and national scientific projects, increase the publication of scientific articles and monographs, and pay special attention to the training of scientific and pedagogical personnel.
