According to the order of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan (No. 380, dated September 26, 2025), a national competition titled “O‘zbek tili – qalbim tarjimoni” (“The Uzbek Language – Translator of My Heart”) is being organized among international students studying in higher education institutions of Uzbekistan whose native language is not Uzbek.
Purpose of the Contest:
- To increase interest in learning the Uzbek language among international students;
- To strengthen the international prestige of the state language;
- To promote Uzbek language, culture, and national values.
Contest Stages:
- University Stage: October 8, 2025 (to be held at Samarkand State Medical University);
- Selection Stage: October 8–11 (online format);
- National Stage: October 14–15, in Tashkent.
Participants:
Only international students enrolled in full-time programs are eligible to participate.
Evaluation Criteria:
- Self-introduction (3–5-minute video) — 100 points;
- Essay writing (minimum 200 words) — 100 points;
- Artistic performance (free topic, final round) — 100 points.
Awards:
- 1st place: First-degree diploma + cash prize equal to 40 BHM (base calculation units) + memorable gifts;
- 2nd place: Second-degree diploma + 30 BHM + gifts;
- 3rd place: Third-degree diploma + 20 BHM + gifts.
All winners and active participants will receive recognition and rewards at each stage of the contest.
International students wishing to participate should apply through their respective universities.
