Educational and methodical work of the department
The Department provides instruction to first-year students enrolled in the programmes of General Medicine, Pediatrics, Preventive Medicine, Fundamental Medicine, Dentistry, and Higher Nursing Education in the course “Medical Biology. General Genetics.”
In addition, students enrolled in the General Medicine programme (joint educational programme with Turkey) at the Faculty of Joint Education are taught the courses “The Cell and Its Metabolism” and “Genetics and the Cell Cycle.” Students of the General Medicine programme (joint programme with PIMU) study the course “Biology,” while students of the Fundamental Medicine programme (joint educational programme) study “Parasitology” and “Medical Cell Biology.”
Furthermore, international students of the Faculty of International Education are provided with instruction in “General Medicine,” while fourth-year students of the Faculty of Medical Biology study “Molecular Genetics.” All of these courses are delivered in accordance with the approved curricula and course syllabi.
Organization of the Educational Process
The educational process for each academic year and faculty is organized on the basis of the following approved regulatory and educational documents:
- teaching load distribution;
- class schedule;
- working curriculum;
- State Educational Standard;
- course curriculum (syllabus);
- calendar-thematic plan;
- student workbook.
Educational Technologies
The following educational technologies, methodological approaches, and teaching materials are used in the educational process:
- amendments and updates introduced in accordance with Order No. 80 of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
- approved qualification requirements;
- international recommendations;
- modern educational technologies, including graphic organizers, case-based learning, and the project-based learning method;
- instructional and handout materials.
Technical Equipment for the Educational Process
The Department has established a modern educational environment equipped with information and communication technologies and other technical teaching facilities. During classes, subject-specific video materials, presentations, and multimedia programmes are used. Lectures and practical classes are delivered with the use of computers, projectors, and television screens.
The Department is equipped with printers, Wi-Fi, microscopes, and an interactive electronic board.
Department Library
- The Department's library contains more than 50 educational publications in Uzbek, Russian, and English, which are used to support the educational process.
- In addition, the Department's electronic library contains textbooks, monographs, study guides, teaching and methodological manuals, as well as other electronic educational resources
