Educational grants for training of audio description (typhlocommentators) are announced!

Fund for Development of Culture and Art under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan in cooperation with “Reacomp” Institute announces educational grants for training of audio description (typhlocommentators) in Uzbekistan.

In order to participate in the contest, please send the following documents: copy of passport, motivation letter, curriculum vitae, resume, copy of the document proving higher or secondary special education; to tiflo@acdf.uz or to the address: 1, Taras Shevchenko Street, Mirabad district, Tashkent city.

Applications will be accepted until February 20, 2022.

In your motivation letter you should indicate the purpose and essence of your participation in the project and answer the following questions:

How did you know about the project and why did you decide to participate?

What do you know about the project in Uzbekistan and CIS?

What social projects have you participated in before?

How do you see your contribution to the development of an inclusive and supportive environment in Uzbekistan?

Candidates from Uzbekistan, selected through online tests and interview, will be able to participate in the training program. The training program consists of two phases: an online course and a full-time course at the “Reacomp” Institute in Moscow. “Reacomp” is the leading institution of the Society for the Blind in the CIS, which uses computer technology for comprehensive rehabilitation, training and retraining of people with disabilities, as well as the introduction of new pedagogical approaches to teaching people with various pathologies of the eye. It should be noted that the Foundation covers the main expenses: transportation, accommodation and food. After graduation from the program, graduates will work with the blind and visually impaired people in theaters in Uzbekistan.

For reference: audio description (typhlocommentary) is a brief description of an object, place or movement, which is incomprehensible to the blind, without special verbal explanations. With the help of specially prepared commentaries blind or visually impaired people can form a complete visual image of what is happening on the stage.

Don't miss the opportunity and try your luck to get a completely new specialty for our country – “audio descriptor (typhlocommentator)”!
