Educational and methodical work of the department

  At the department, 3rd and 4th year students of the Faculty of Pediatrics study the subject “Pediatrics”; 3rd year students of the Faculties of Medical Pedagogy, General Medicine, Medical Prophylaxis, and Medical Biology study the subject “Medical Genetics”; 4th year students of the Faculty of Dentistry study the subjects “Pediatrics, Medical Genetics”; 2nd year students study the subject “Fundamentals of Medical Genetics” according to a joint program; and 1st year MBBS students study the subject “Care for Pediatric Patients.”

  Teaching for each course and faculty is carried out on the basis of the following approved documents:

• Qualification characteristics;
• State standards;
• Curriculum;
• Working curriculum;

Educational technologies include:

• Amendments based on the Order No. 80 of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Uzbekistan;
• Approved diagnostic standards;
• International recommendations;
• Modern educational technologies (mt.sammu.uz).

  The educational process is supported by the following technical facilities:

  A telecommunication system is established, including video films, presentations, multimedia programs related to the topics, lectures, and practical classes.

Department library:

• The library contains more than 40 educational textbooks in English, Uzbek, and Russian.
• The electronic library includes textbooks, atlases, study guides, teaching-methodical manuals, and others.

  For students, clinical training is organized, including patient observation in hospital wards as well as training in ultrasound and ECG diagnostic rooms.
