Abstract

ANNOTATATION The endocrine structures of the lungs are represented by single cells (apudocytes) and neuroepithelial bodies (NET). They play an important regulatory role during lung histogenesis. Changes in apudocytes and NET in inflammatory pathology in children have not been fully studied. The aim of the study was to study the state of the endocrine apparatus of the lungs in pneumonia in children. To achieve this goal, fragments of the lungs of children of different ages who died of pneumonia were studied. After fixation in Bouin's fluid and embedding in paraffin, the sections were impregnated with silver nitrate according to the Grimelius method. The study showed that in children with pneumonia, hyperplasia of both apudocytes and NETs occurs. Morphologically, an increase in the functional activity of the endocrine apparatus of the lungs is manifested in inflammatory pathology of the lungs in childhood.
