SamSMU staff actively participate in health promotion activities in Kashkadarya region

  The Ministry of Health of the Republic has initiated an action to improve the health of the population of Kashkadarya region as part of the implementation of the seven health priorities outlined by the President during an open meeting with health workers. Specialists from the country's leading medical institutions, including staff of the clinical departments of Samarkand State Medical University, participate in the events.

  Specialists in therapy, cardiology, otorhinolaryngology, maxillofacial surgery, neuropathology, paediatrics, ophthalmology, surgery, traumatology and other subspecialties of SamSMU are involved in family polyclinics and rural health units in Kashkadarya region, where they provide methodological assistance to local health workers, organize master classes and conduct in-depth medical examinations.

  In particular, a group of seconded staff from the Department of Maxillofacial Surgery at Samarkand State Medical University performs high-tech surgical interventions and provides consultations to the local population. And employees of the Department of Clinical Laboratory and Diagnostics from March 31st are assigned to family policlinics in Karshi, where they provide scientific and methodological assistance to medical staff of these institutions, as well as studying the state of laboratory service of neighboring region.

  More than 800 patients have been examined by specialists to date, who have been advised and treated accordingly. In the field of surgery, more than 40 masterclasses in maxillofacial and general surgery, otorhinolaryngology and urology have been organised, as well as a large number of different mini-invasive surgical procedures.

  In order to reach all segments of the district's population, outreach appointments are also arranged locally, including in remote areas that are difficult to reach by mobile vehicles.
