Samarkand State Medical University hosted the 8th International Symposium on Sources of Consumable Medicinal Plants and Biologically Active Ingredients

  On June 28 of this year, the VIII International Symposium "Sources of Consumable Medicinal Plants and Biologically Active Ingredients" started at Samarkand State Medical University. Representatives from a number of countries took part in the symposium, which was organized in cooperation with Samarkand State Medical University, Samarkand State University named after Sharof Rashidov, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and Xinjiang Institute of Physics and Chemistry.

  In this symposium, which is held every two years, the achievements on resources, cultivations, chemical components, bioactivities and medicinal properties of medicinal plants were shared. Current issues and main problems in the relevant fields were discussed and opinions were exchanged on the prospects of fundamental research and technologies. Also at the conference were the processing of Chinese medical resources, the development of Pan health products, the cultivation of wild plants to combat desertification and climate change in arid zones, the quality standards of pomegranate peel, Uzbekistan Lectures were given on wild plants of the Republic and their use in traditional medicine, as well as a number of other topics.

  Within the framework of the symposium, Samarkand State Medical University was visited with the participants. Getting acquainted with the conditions, educational processes and system of the university, a trip to the museum of the history of the university was organized.
