Within the framework of the visit of the delegation of Samarkand State Medical University headed by Rector Zhasur Rizaev to St. Petersburg (RF), visits were made to St. Petersburg Research Institute of Phthisiopulmonology of the Ministry of Health of Russia, St. George City Hospital, Beloostrov Clinic, First St. Petersburg State Medical University named after A.I.P. Pavlov, where familiarization with the leading practices in the field of surgery, oncology, high-tech care was held.

  At the meeting with the government of St. Petersburg, the parties noted that cooperation in the field of health care is among the most actively developing areas of cooperation between the countries. Representatives of St. Petersburg's healthcare sector have visited many cities of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Also on the basis of St. Petersburg health care institutions on a regular basis on-site trainings are organized for Uzbek specialists in such popular areas as "endovascular surgery", "endoscopic surgery", "neurosurgery" and many others.

  During the visit the delegation of SamSMU outlined directions for development and strengthening of cooperation with medical organizations of St. Petersburg.
