Visit of the Ambassador of the Republic of India to SamSMI

  In order to intensify the involvement of Samarkand State Medical Institute in the global educational space, a Faculty of International Education was established in September 2020. So, the implementation of study programme - Medicine "MBBS" - has started for the citizens of foreign countries, in which more than 475 students, including 75 students from the Republic of India have been enrolled in the current academic year. Axis International University is assisting in recruiting citizens of this country and has concluded relevant co-operation agreements with this university.

  Regarding to it, ambassador of India to Uzbekistan Shri Manish Prabhat visited Samarkand State Medical Institute on April 9. The high-ranking guest was accompanied by the secretary of ambassador Aditi b. Walunj, Assistant Ambassador Shri Bhargav Mitra.

  Rector of Samarkand State Medical Institute, Professor Jasur Alimdjanovich Rizaev received the guests on a visit. The working meeting was held in the atmosphere of friendship and reciprocity. The guests discussed the level of interaction between the two countries, and ephasized the need of cooperation in the field of education. Jasur Alimjanovich mentioned conditions created at the institute for students from India to get quality education and accommodation, timely solution of current problems, expressed gratitude to the embassy staff for prompt solution of visa and other organizational issues as well as recognition of SamSMI in the Indian Medical League.

  The Ambassador of India, Mr. Shri Manish Prabhat, thanked the Rector for his warm welcome and said that the relations between our countries were currently in a "golden period". The ambassador said that many young people in India have dreams of attaining the noble profession of physician, and it is no coincidence that many of them have chosen Samarkand State Medical Institute, the first medical institute in Central Asia. "Your institute, - Mr. Ambassador said, - is renowned for its well-established traditions of training highly qualified medical personnel, and I am confident your opportunities and achievements will only grow in the future". The members of the embassy expressed sincere gratitude for conditions created for Indian students to learn medical profession. At the end of the meeting, commemorative gifts were exchanged, and the participants of the meeting were also interviewed by the media.

  Then, a meeting between guests and students from the Republic of India was held in the large assembly hall of Samarkand State Medical Institute's Clinic No.1. The speakers were Mr. Ambassador Manish Prabhat, secretary to Ambassador Aditi b. Walunj, Assistant to Ambassador Shri Bhargav Mitra, Dean of Faculty of International Education Mansur Aliev and representative of "Axis International Business Solutions" Nasim Ahmad and they underlined high level of the conditions created for students, high potential of the faculty, called upon all students for excellent study and observance of all rules of the internal order of the Institute model behavior. The guests and the organizers also answered questions raised by the students and wished them success in their studies.

  That was the final part of the official visit of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the Institute.
