On the eve of the election, international observers from around the world visited the Republic of Uzbekistan to observe the voting process and the conditions created in polling stations.

  Ms. Kokere Venta, Director of the Academic Library of the University of Latvia, visited Samarkand to observe the voting process in the elections and met with the Rector of the Samarkand State Medical Institute, Jasur Rizaev.

  Ms. Kokere Venta was given a tour to the new academic building of Samarkand State Medical Institute and the conditions created for education. During the talks, the sides exchanged views on establishing international cooperation and academic mobility of teachers and students, they also agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding.

  At the end of the meeting, Ms. Kokere Venta presented a book entitled “Single-stranded RNA phages: from molecular biology to nanotechnology” to the library of the Institute. In turn, the management of the institute presented memorable gifts to the foreign guests.
