Research work of the department
Since the establishment of the Department, 620 journal articles have been published, including 13 articles indexed in the Scopus database, 294 articles in national publications, and 105 articles in foreign journals included in the list of the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC).
In cooperation with Samarkand State Medical University, the Department of Endocrinology has organized more than 358 seminars and 162 scientific and practical conferences.
According to the results of 2022, the staff of the Department published 52 scientific articles and more than 20 conference abstracts.
The Department has established professional and scientific contacts with foreign specialists. In 2022, three members of the Department — D.Sh. Sabirova, T.M. Kamalov, and U.Q. Yuldoshev — visited Moscow and completed professional development training.

In addition, seminars, webinars, conferences, and master classes are regularly held throughout the year.
Currently, the Department of Endocrinology provides teaching in the discipline of Endocrinology for students of the General Medicine, Professional Education, Pediatrics, Traditional Medicine, and Higher Nursing Education programs.
The Department provides training for experienced and highly qualified endocrinologists through Master’s degree, residency, and clinical residency programs, as well as continuing professional development courses.
Scientific and Educational Cooperation
On April 13, 2022, a delegation from the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Endocrinology named after Academician Y.Kh. Turakulov visited Samarkand State Medical University.
A meeting between representatives of the Center and the university’s academic staff was held in the university’s assembly hall.
During the meeting, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between Samarkand State Medical University and the Republican Specialized Scientific and Practical Medical Center of Endocrinology named after Academician Y.Kh. Turakulov.
According to the signed document, the parties agreed to jointly promote scientific and educational programs, organize conferences, seminars, and round-table discussions, and conduct professional development activities for specialists.

In addition, representatives of the Center — Director, Doctor of Medical Sciences F.F. Turaev, and Deputy Director, Doctor of Medical Sciences, Professor Feruza Khaydarova — delivered lectures for the teaching staff, Master’s residents, and clinical residents of Samarkand State Medical University on the current state and prospects for the treatment of diabetes mellitus in the Republic of Uzbekistan.

At present, the Department has 2 PhD holders with the academic title of Associate Professor, 4 PhD holders, 2 doctoral students, and 2 independent researchers actively engaged in research activities.
