It has been 34 years since our beloved Uzbekistan achieved its national independence. This is a historically very short period. But if the achievements are considered from the point of view of what has been done, we have the right to say that this is a historical stage that is worthy for thousands of years without words.
Within the framework of spiritual and educational activities organized on the scale of our university and on the basis of the plan of work carried out in the direction of youth education and spiritual and educational work of the Department, spiritual and educational activities, meetings, round tables are held at the Department. The main task today is to ensure the enrichment of our younger generation with knowledge, to raise them spiritually, to promote their self-confidence, the ability to change their lives for the better.
Spiritual and educational work in the Department of languages is carried out according to the plan approved by the “Department of youth work, spirituality and enlightenment” of the University. A spirituality hour is held with students every Friday of the week. This aspect of work is very important. During such meetings with students and talking about etiquette, culture, norms of behavior, we try to convey to our youth about the news, spiritual changes that have occurred in a week in our country and the whole world.
During the "Spirituality hour" at the Department of Languages, students know and learn about the Honorable President Sh.M.Mirziyoyev's speeches, decrees at various events and meetings, the decisions of the Supreme Assembly and the Cabinet of Ministers as well as students gain a knowledge about the ways of educating a harmonious generation, increasing and improving the universal, national and spiritual qualities of young people, maintaining a healthy lifestyle among students, forming a healthy spiritual environment among students. Besides that out teachers are carrying out a wide range of spiritual and educational work to effectively organize students' free time.
In 2018-2020, M.K.Beknazarova was responsible for spiritual and educational work at the Department of Languages, in the 2020-2021 academic year D.S.Ibragimova, in the 2021-2022 academic year B.S.Sharipov, in the 2022-2023 academic year R.A.Kurbanova and M.B.Esanova were in charge of the department's spiritual and educational work. Since September 2023, assistant Z.M.Mahmudov was appointed and is currently coordinating and organizing spiritual and educational work.
In order to increase political and legal culture among students, a contest of essays on the topic “November 18 – The day of adoption of the State Flag of the Republic of Uzbekistan” was held, and a contest of public dictators on the topic “My Constitution and State Language” was held under the slogan “My Constitution is 32 years old”.
A group of teachers from the Department of Languages held a seminar on January 15, 2025 and visited the Samarkand Regional State Information and Library Center named after Pushkin altogether with students from groups 102 and 107 of the Faculty of General Medicine and group 107 of the Faculty of Pediatrics. The fourth initiative of the state program of “Five initiatives", that is, in order to organize systematic work on raising the morale of young people, promoting reading among them more efficiently, under the motto “Travelling through libraries" which helps to get acquainted with the existing libraries in our city and to promote book-loving widely among young people. In order to strengthen their sense of national pride and honor, a cultural and spiritual tour and roundtable discussion of professors, teachers, and students on the topic "We are the heirs of great scholars" were organized.
