В литературе нет неоднозначного ответа в отношении динамики маркеров метаболизма костной ткани при ВЗК, неясна и направленность динамики остеокальцина. Доказано, что одним из клинических осложнений ВЗК являются нарушения минерального обмена, приводящие к остеопении и остеопорозу. Поэтому пациентам с ВЗК покащзано регулярное исследование на наличие патологии минерального обмена, Биохимические маркеры костного метаболизма, отражают баланс между резорбцией и ремоделированием кости. Патогенез снижения минеральной плотности костей при ВЗК многофакторен. Уровни Са и витамина D способны не только вызывать остеопороз, но и инициировать вторичной гиперпаратиреоз. У пациентов ВЗК из-за низкой концентрации витамина D уровень ПТГ повышен, при этом у большинства пациентов концентрации кальция и фосфатов находились в пределах нормы.
